This is home to Rosie’s Charity Walk and Festival. The aim of this site is to bring you up-to-date information on the up and coming walk for this year but also to give you feedback on what the previous walks have accomplished with your help.
‘Rosie’s Walk' began in 2002 on the first anniversary of losing Rosie as a memorial, raising money for City Hospital A&E Dept and Cancer Research at the University of Birmingham. Because of the overwhelming support and requests we received it has grown into a very popular and successful annual event.

We wanted to involve the whole community, including non walkers, so we added a small festival to the sponsored walk with the aim of providing an enjoyable family day out. We feel Rosie would very proud and delighted by the people who support the day and what it goes onto achieve. Thank you for your support for giving so generously and helping many young lives and for giving us as a family, strength, purpose and hope.’

The sponsored walk raises vital funds for local children and young people’s groups across the area. Here is what your money can achieve:-

£50 can help a young disabled person into their first job

£20
can pay for a child to receive bereavement support

£15
can ensure a teenager has a local youth club

£10
can provide a child with a pre-school facility.

£5
helps towards new equipment for pre-school groups

Businesses

Many local businesses support this event including Aldridge Co-Op Travel and Barhale Construction. You can support the event by making a donation that will be acknowledged on this site (with a link to your website) and promotional literature.

For a fun day out you can enter a team of employees and their families to take part raising money by collecting sponsors for the charity walk. Rotometrics, RBS and HSBC have all matched funds their employees raise by taking part in the charity walk.

Volunteers

Without the help and hard work of our wonderful volunteers it would be very difficult to hold such an event. Volunteers range from young people such as Aldridge Air Cadets and Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme to senior citizens, each play an important and much appreciated role. If you would like to volunteer a few hours of your time on the day of the event please contact Karen here.
