The World’s largest Bike
came to Aldridge on Saturday 15th July 2006

Built to break the world record for the most people on a cycle (which it did) it provided a great opportunity for people over the age of 10 years to raise sponsorship for Rosie’s Helping Hands. A Team of 23 people cycled from Aldridge Town Centre to Walsall Town Centre and back again, this was a real head turner and proved to be a fun way in which to raise money. All the people on the team have asked to do this again next year and to further the distance with another team of 23. We shall be organizing this again sometime next year and will be looking for people to take part. To register your interest please contact Karen Ross by
e-mail.

Paul Manning is part of the British Team Pursuit Cyclists, shown above. Paul kindly came to Aldridge to see the large bike off.

Rosie’s Walk & Festival 2007. Thank you to everyone who supported the event despite the poor weather conditions we were vey touched by your support. It was another very successful event, enjoyed by over 800 people. Mel the Jack Sparrow lookalike certainly brightened everyone’s day, he was kept busy posing for photographs. The entertainment on stage kept people amused and dry! The money raised has helped various small local projects with equipment for new playgroups, bursary for young people with disabilities entering employment for the first, resurfacing of a local children’s park, hire of premises for youth club, children’s choir with transport costs to competitions and concerts.
