Rosie’s Walk …the last one
We hope you can join us for the 15th and last Rosie’s Walk on Sunday 17th July. For sponsor forms and more information please click here . We shall be ending Rosie’s Walk how it began with just the walk and no festival on site, although The Longhorn Pub on the 3 mile route will have an outdoor stage with live music for walkers to enjoy, the pub will hold a BBQ and raffle with proceeds to Rosie’s Walk.
The charity has kept Rosie’s memory alive for 15 years and has far exceeded all our expectations and in doing so has helped many local children and young people’s voluntary groups and organisations and hospitals. We have met some wonderful and inspiring people along the way, and the support we have received has been incredible from so many people from all walks of life, the charity certainly could not have continued for so long without that. We cannot begin to express our thanks to everyone.
Next year will be a poignant year for us as it will be 16 years since we lost Rosie and as such we feel that 2017 will be the right time to bring the charity to a close. We are doing this in such a way which, we feel, is right for the projects we support and for our wonderful supporters.
We have set the target to raise as £15,000 as this is the 15th year of fundraising and this will go on to help many small voluntary groups working with children and young people in the Walsall and surrounding areas. The funding helps with toys, books, games, computers, musical instruments and lots more. We have already pledged to support Aldridge Air Cadets, Dreams In Action Performance Company, children’s ward at Walsall Manor hospital, and are happy to consider more nominations.
